Alarming values in the current evaluation of air pollutants
A current evaluation of air pollutants has revealed alarming values which, according to the German Environmental Aid, lead to harmful air pollution in Germany.
According to the air quality report of the Federal Environment Agency for the year 2022, the air in all German cities and communities is critically polluted by fine dust and the diesel exhaust gas poison nitrogen dioxide. Almost all measuring stations (99.5 percent) exceed the limit values recommended by the World Health Organization for fine dust. The Federal Director of the German Environmental Aid, Resch, calls on the Environment Minister Lemke, with regard to the planned tightening of air quality values, to implement these nationally in accordance with the recommendations of the WHO and to work for a speedy introduction of the Euro 7 emissions standard to improve air quality.
