The biogerontologist Denham Harman has known since the middle of the 20th century that free radicals are the cause of the aging process. Free radicals are formed in our cells as “waste” from environmental toxins, stress, an unhealthy lifestyle and poor nutrition and impair our health. The theory has been confirmed several times by scientific findings and from this the theory of mitochondrial aging was developed – the impairment and disruption of our energy metabolism as a result of cell aging. According to research results, free radicals are also responsible for the development of many serious diseases such as cancer, arteriosclerosis, diabetes or Alzheimer’s.
The good news: research shows that antioxidants fight free radicals, reduce the aging process and lead to an increase in the average survival time – if you know the state of free radicals in the body.
Biochemical Background
The test measures malondialdehyde and the level of lipid peroxidation, which is a by-product of free radicals and correlates with the amount of free radicals in the body. The test result allows exact conclusions to be drawn about the content of free radicals in the urine. The test results are a reference value for sub-health management. The detection principle is that malondialdehyde, a degradation product of lipid peroxide, condenses with thiobarbituric acid to form a red substance. Therefore, the color of the test area of the test strip becomes darker as the concentration of malondialdehyde and thus the concentration of free radicals in the urine increases.
Test execution
- Dip the test strip with the test field in your own urine for 2 seconds
- Remove and leave on for 60 seconds
- Position test strip test field next to reference fields and compare color values under natural light
Evaluation test result
Normal
The level of free radicals in the body is normal and in good health. Please maintain good eating and living habits.
Low
A slight imbalance between the level of free radicals in the body (slightly abnormal) and the body’s antioxidant defense level requires adequate sleep, adjust your diet structure and pay attention to maintaining nutritional balance. It is recommended to test again in two weeks.
Middle
Free radical levels in the body are in the moderately high range, so there is a need to improve diet and lifestyle habits, reduce stress, and supplement supportive antioxidant foods and/or hydrogen-rich drinking water. Correct the high levels of free radicals in the body, so as not to delay the decline or prevent the onset of disease. It is recommended to test again a week later.
High
The level of free radicals in the body is too high, which can lead to accelerated aging or an increase in the likelihood of some diseases. It is recommended to reduce stress, get enough sleep, choose appropriate antioxidant foods and/or drink hydrogen-rich drinking water to quickly compensate for the deficiency.

What can I do if the value is too high?
Solutions to improve Free Radicals in your body: Improvements in the form of antioxidants can be the right micronutrient and vitamin foods your body needs.
Tip: Hydrogen-rich drinking water is considered a super effective antioxidant and is known as a radical scavenger. Hydrogen-rich drinking water has been proven in studies to be a real fountain of youth with regard to energy metabolism, cell aging and physical impairments caused by illness. According to studies, hydrogen even has a supportive effect on obesity and against numerous so-called civilization diseases.
