Air Purifier Classification
Effective, efficient, and quiet air purification.

Eliminating airborne viruses and germs is a crucial task in the current climate and poses a significant challenge for air purifiers. Airborne pollutants—such as fine particulate matter and allergens—also pose a serious threat to our health.
Air purifiers employ technologies such as ionizers, UV light, and HEPA filters to successfully combat viruses, bacteria, germs, toxic dusts, and formaldehyde. Integrated air sensors confirm the effectiveness of PM2.5 removal.

Ionizers and Negative Ions

Ionizers—which generate negative ions, often referred to as “vitamins of the air”—rapidly absorb harmful substances (at a rate of at least 10 million ions/cm³) and bind various pollutants such as dust, odors, bacteria, and viruses. High-quality air purifiers even feature a dual-stage negative ion filtration system.

UV and Ozone Filtration Stages

UV light in the 254 nm range (UV-C) eliminates mold spores, germs, bacteria, and viruses. Additionally, TRUE-HEPA and HEPA13 filtration stages capture ultrafine particles (0.1–0.3 µm), bacteria, viruses, and aerosols. Ozone filtration stages (500 mg/h)—which can be switched on or off as needed—serve as another powerful weapon against airborne contaminants.

Noise Level

Good air purifiers operate quietly and unobtrusively. Noise levels should ideally remain within the 25–38 dB range during quiet operation.

Airflow Rate: CADR Clean Air Delivery Rate

A high air filtration rate is essential. The air in a room should be completely filtered 4 to 7.5 times per hour. High-quality air filters can handle this task even in larger rooms or group spaces, boasting a CADR ranging from 420 m³ to over 830 m³. This makes these units suitable for use in group rooms and workshops, as well as in daycare centers and classrooms.

Areas of Application and Funding

The air filter series from BestElements Filtertechnologie offers models suitable for three types of settings: homes, offices, and group rooms. A funding program is available to support users in public facilities; inquiries regarding funding can be submitted.
