Chemicals in drinking water, in food and on fields

Umbrella association of German nature, animal and environmental protection organizations: “The EU Commission has published a first watch list for new pollutants in drinking water that will have to be better monitored in future. The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has added four new substances of very high concern to its candidate list Titanium dioxide (E 171) is banned in food from summer… Environmental hormones in drinking water: Commission puts endocrine disruptors on the list of pollutants” (source dnr.de chemicals drinking water food)

Such reports are piling up more and more. More and more people are concerned about the purity of their tap water. Only a fraction of the substances contained in water need to be examined. And these tests don’t always turn out well. In several cases, boiling bids are issued because there are too many germs in the drinking water. And in many cases residues of medicines and medicines have been detected. On the one hand, old medicines are disposed of incorrectly and end up in the water, on the other hand, active ingredients are excreted by humans and animals and thus end up in the drinking water cycle. Complete removal by waterworks is not always possible.

What is important in water filters at home or in offices?

Filter solutions are in demand for private households and also for office kitchens. Parents are concerned about the purity of water for their families and office workers want to consume clean drinking water at work, free of contaminants dissolved in water. Buying bottled water is not always the right solution. Even fewer substances are tested in bottled water than in tap water, transport is neither convenient nor environmentally friendly and the whole thing is not economical in the long run. And all minerals are ingested with food anyway.

So the question arises: Which water filter is right for me?

Flow filters can be useful when it comes to removing limescale or momentary bacterial contamination. However, it is important for a long-term solution for the home or office that:

  • the unwanted substances are thoroughly removed,
  • the impurities are led out of the filter device immediately after filtering and not all further drinking water has to go through the germ of the previous water,
  • the filter devices work reliably in the long term,
  • high performance values and material purity of the filter devices are given. Nobody wants to come into contact with plasticizers or toxic alloys through the filter devices.
