Drug residues in the water could be expensive

Substance inputs such as pharmaceuticals, microplastics and pesticides are already a problem for water bodies today. And in the future, the burden could increase significantly, as announced by the Federal Association of Energy and Water Management.

According to the BDEW, pollution could increase due to the aging of society and the costs for drinking water treatment could rise significantly with this increasing pollution of the waters.
